Chinese Embassy Women's Club Holds Activities Celebrating International Women's Day

On the morning of March 8th, the Women’s Club of Chinese Embassy in Canada held a symposium to celebrate the International Women’s Day. More than 40 people including female diplomats of the Embassy, female relatives of the Embassy staff and representatives of outstanding female overseas Chinese in Canada attended the symposium.

Mrs. Wang Liwen, head of the Women’s Club, delivered the opening speech and sent festival greetings to the participants. As representatives of outstanding female overseas Chinese, Zhao Qun, the famous Peking Opera performing artist, Guan Yadong, the Pipa performer and Liu Minghui, the soprano singer, were invited to the symposium and shared the experience of striving for excellence and expertise in their fields. Three female diplomats including, Minister Counselor of Educational Affairs Yang Xinyu, Counselor and Consul-General Gao Ping, and Counselor Tao Yihong, shared their own experience in respective career as well as stories on women’s movement in Canada.

The falling snow outside the window chimed in harmoniously with laughter in the room. With the fragrance of tea wafting in the air, the participants appreciated and highly praised the excellent performance of three guests. After the symposium, participants enjoyed the buffet delicacies, talked in delight and spent the pleasant time together.
