Chinese Embassy in Canada Opens for Condolences at the National Mourning Period

The Chinese Government has declared a national mourning period from 19th to 21st of May, 2008 to express deep condolence to victims of the May 12th earthquake that hit Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province. The Chinese national flag will be kept at half-mast and all public amusements will be suspended for the mourning period.

A condolence book will be opened at the Chinese Embassy, 515, St. Patrick Street, Ottawa, for people of all walks of life in Canada on Monday, May 19th from 1400 to 1700, and Tuesday, May 20th as well as Wednesday, May 21st from 1000 to 1200 and from 1400 to 1700. Embassy staff will be there to receive and provide help wherever necessary. Parking is available at the Embassy's main entrance.
