On the morning of March 21, H.E. Mr. Lu Shumin, the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Canada, presented his letter of credence to the Canadian Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson. After that, they had candid and friendly talks. Her Right Honorable Adrienne Clarkson extended warm welcome to Ambassador Lu, pointing out that Sino-Canadian relations have been developing very smoothly. She hoped that bilateral relations could scale new heights with the joint efforts of both sides. Ambassador Lu responded that he is very privileged and pleased to be posted in Canada, adding that he would do whatever he can to contribute to the further development of Sino-Canadian relations. Ambassador Lu and his wife arrived in Ottawa on March 17. |
